The Bridge Direct will be releasing a line of toys and figures to tie-in with the release of Peter Jackson's two-movie adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. Although the company was in attendance at the 2012 New York Toy Fair, they were less than keen to share their wares (presumably to avoid spoilers and also due to licensing requirements) but thankfully, they were at least able to talk about some aspects of the upcoming toys...
Ron at Action Figure Pics was able to glean some information and in an article at the site, he shares what he learned, specifically:
- Will the line skew more towards kids or collectors? As a line that will be available at mass market retailers, of course there will be product oriented at kids. But as a whole, the line will appeal to the collector segment.
- Four or six-inch scale? Both!
- Sculpt detail, paint, articulation consistent with Toy Biz’s LOTR line? Lots of head nodding.
- Shelf dates? Expect toys to hit shelves as soon as October, but in force for the holidays – late November and December.
