We're huge fans of Gold Dober's Micronaut-inspired toys here at That Figures but I don't think anybody was prepared for just how incredible his latest creation - the Flight Commander - looks.

It's been a while since we checked in with him but our favorite Micronauts Mad Scientist Gold Dober has been beavering away in his Micro-lab putting the finishing touches to his run of hand-built tributes to the Micronauts' Force Commander, the Flight Commander.

And now we're promised a release very soon - hopefully as early as next month. But ahead of that, why not check-out the history of this toys' production, which has proven to be a true labor of love for Gold Dober.

Gold Dober has just posted an update at the Micronauts Homeworld Blog featuring his plans for a series of new colourways for the Micronauts-inspired Flight Commander.

See, this is why I'd never be able to produce my own toys. Aside from the fact that I lack the sculpting and artistic ability to design and create the components, I also don't possess the frighteningly-intense levels of patience required to keep track of and then assemble each figure. The above image fills me with both excitement and terror.

You may recall last year we featured the work of Micronauts-inspired toy creator Gold Dober and his awesome Biotron/Robotman figure, Roboid. Well he's back with a new project in the form of the equally-incredible Flight Commander.

NEWS: New Images of Gold Dober's Circus Roboids

We've told you previously about Gold Dober's Circus Roboids, a small run of figures he's producing from the remaining parts and mis-colours left over from the Roboid creation process. Now Gold Dober - perhaps the world's most-dedicated Micronauts fan - has posted some images of the upcoming figures at his Homeworld Blog.

No word yet on pricing or a release date, but we'll keep you posted.
