NEWS: GI Joe: Retaliation Roadblock and Beachhead Reviews

So General Joes got their hands on the pre-production versions of the Roadblock and Beachhead figures from the upcoming GI Joe: Retaliation Ninja Showdown 3-Pack and sadly it looks like Hasbro may - may - be cutting a few corners with the figures. Keep in mind however that these are pre-production versions of the toys and we may see these issues fixed by the time they hit shelves later this year.

I certainly hope so.

NEWS: Toys R Us Leap Day Cyber Sale

Today - February 29th 2012 - is, as you may have gathered, a Leap Day. So while you wait for Leap Day William to come and give you candy for your tears, why not spend the time browsing through the discounted items listed in Toys R Us' Leap Day Cyber Sale?

Although there's not much here you probably haven't already passed-on in the clearance aisle at your local TRU and many of the items seem to be of the ''Supersonic Tennis Ninja'' variant-style of figure (i.e. the ones nobody wants), you may find the odd bargain here.

VIDEO VIEW: John Carter Audience Reactions

A few lucky cinema goers got to see an early preview screening of Disney-Pixar's John Carter on Monday night and Barsoomian fan-site The John Carter Files caught-up with them afterward to ask what they thought of the movie. But before you click play, be warned that there is a spoiler at around the 0:45 mark.

Surprisingly - given the early testing scores - John Carter received a very positive reception, including from  women viewers, a demographic that had previously ''flat-out rejected the film'' based on the early promotional campaign.

Here's hoping positive reviews and word-of-mouth can overcome Disney's weak advertising.

John Carter opens on March 9th.

Thanks to ComicBookMovie.com for the tip.

There's not a great deal to see here - as is usually the way with ET's ''so how did you - ooh look, a squirrel!'' -style of reporting - but fans will I'm sure enjoy this brief on-set report.

Here's the latest trailer for Disney-Pixar's John Carter.

NEWS: GI Joe: Retaliation Toys - Sneak Peek

The GI Joe: Retaliation toy line seems to have split collectors into two camps, with some being underwhelmed by the ''kiddyfied'' look of the line and news that some may feature reduced articulation, whereas other collectors (myself included) are rather excited about the dynamic look and kid-friendly appeal of the toys.
